Three terror rockets were fired into northern Israel from Lebanon on Wednesday, prompting thousands of people to take cover in bomb shelters.

TEL AVIV – The IDF on Sunday announced the end of its northern operation to find and destroy cross-border tunnels with the discovery of a sixth attack tunnel dug by Lebanon-based terror group, Hezbollah. 

The Israeli army has begun destroying tunnels it says were dug by Hezbollah from Lebanon across its border with Israel.

The UN Security Council will convene Wednesday to discuss the discovery of attack tunnels under the Israel-Lebanon border that Israel says were dug by the Hezbollah terrorist group, Israel’s UN mission said Tuesday.

Israel’s army said Sunday it has uncovered another Hezbollah “attack tunnel” leading from Lebanon into its territory, the fourth since it started a search-and-destroy operation this month.

For the last week, Middle East headlines have rightly been dominated by Israel’s Operation Northern Shield to destroy Hezbollah attack tunnels that snake into Israeli territory.

Tuesday appears to have marked the beginning of a serious bid by Israel finally to confront and defeat Iran’s proxy, Hezbollah.

BEIRUT –  United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon said Friday they were keeping a close eye on the southern border with Israel, but the area was “quiet” after strikes on suspected Iranian positions in Syria.

UNITED NATIONS — U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley secured another significant win at the Security Council Wednesday when a resolution renewing the mandate of the UN’s peacekeeping mission included tougher language on tackling Hezbollah — a resolution that was also celebrated by Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tore into the U.N. Monday at a press conference with U.N. Secretary General António Guterres, blasting the international agency’s “absurd obsession” with Israel — before saying it is “time to restore moral clarity” at the U.N.

NEW YORK CITY — Israel Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon called Saturday for the United Nations to get tougher against Hezbollah, urging the Security Council to adopt a tougher mandate for the body’s peacekeeping mission in the region.
