Mitt Romney leads President Barack Obama by one point, 48%-47%, in two Colorado polls, continuing his campaign’s momentum after a decisive victory during the first presidential debate in Denver.

In a Survey USA/Denver Post poll, Romney leads Obama by one point, 48%-47%.

According to the poll, the Colorado voters who changed their minds the most after the Denver debate were college-educated voters. The Post notes that Obama led among college-educated voters by five points before the debate and Romney leads by five points after the debate. 

And in a Quinnipiac poll that had an R+2 sample, Romney also leads Obama by one point, 48% to 47%. 

The poll found Romney led among independent voters by four points, 49%-45%. 

Sixty-seven percent of those surveyed thought Romney was a strong leader while only 29% did not. Only 54% thought Obama was a strong leader while 44% said they did not. 

Colorado voters, by a 56-point margin (72%-16%), thought Romney defeated Obama in the debate.

Obama won Colorado by nine points in 2008 but has been underperforming in the Centennial State this election cycle.
