Multiple Rounds Help With Self-Defense

GOP strategist Kate Obenshain recently sat down with Scott Rasmussen and explained why she and other women prefer semi-automatic weapons.

“Semi-automatic weapons are the most popular gun purchased for self-defense right now,” said Ms. Obenshain. “They’re the Glocks or the guns that women buy that have the detachable magazine that holds 10 rounds.”

“I’m a woman, a single mom, I have a weak arm and I shake when I’m scared. I want multiple rounds in my guns if I want one for self defense,” she said.

Last Friday, a Loganville, GA woman used her .38 revolver to defend herself and her kids against an intruder. She noticed a suspicious man outside her house while working in her office. She managed to get her and her kids into the crawlspace before the man broke in with a crowbar. When he opened the door he found himself face to face with the gun.

She shot him five times and took out his teeth. He survived, but was arrested down the road.

"My wife is a hero. She protected her kids. She did what she was supposed to do as a responsible, prepared gun owner," Donnie Herman said.

In the wake of the tragedy in Newtown, CT the Obama administration is trying to push through strict gun control laws, which includes a ban on high-capacity magazines.

All of these gains are nominal, you understand, but for terrified American policy makers and investors, nominal is just fine.
