MS GOP Chairman: Breitbart News Is 'Washington Elite'

Last week, Breitbart News' Matthew Boyle appeared on Memphis, TN Fox affiliate WHBQ and called the upcoming contest for the Mississippi Republican senatorial nomination "ground zero" for control of the state Republican Party. That race features long-time incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) against Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-Ellisville).

Thursday in an appearance on WHBQ, Mississippi GOP Chairman Joe Nosef refuted the notion that Mississippi is "ground zero," terming those who made such declarations to be Washington and New York elites.

"You know, it’s interesting – those of us who are from Mississippi and travel the state have a little bit different take," Nosef said. "Some of the hyperbole I hear from some of the Washington and kind of New York elite political analysts … who aren’t based in Mississippi, who wouldn’t know Ocean Springs from Oxford talk about the war for the heart and soul of the Republican Party of Mississippi. That’s just not what’s going on in Mississippi."

Sessions to Fed Chair Yellen: 'This Stimulus Failed American Workers'

In his prepared remarks at Senate Budget Committee hearing with Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen, ranking Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions hit the Federal Reserve for its missed economic projections and the failure of President Barack Obama's 2009 stimulus legislation.

"No government regulator, no matter how intelligent, can see into the future or micromanage the economy… In 2011, the Fed forecasted growth of between 3.5 and 4.3 percent in 2013. Actual growth was an anemic 1.9 percent—roughly half. This is a drastic over-estimation, not a small miss…"

"While the stimulus mindset in Washington has at least, so far, been better for the investor class and the political class, it has not been good for the working class. Not only has this stimulus failed American workers, but it has left us with record debt and an economy dependent on unprecedented policies that cannot continue."

Brian Williams Mistakes Nigeria and Kenya

On the Tuesday broadcast of NBC "Nightly News," anchor Brian Williams got his countries confused in a report about the kidnapped school girls in Nigeria. Williams had referred to Nigeria as Kenya twice in his opening introduction.

"Good evening," Williams said. "Tonight it now feels as if the world is aware and responding to the kidnapping of 276 school girls in Kenya three weeks ago today. After a bold and scary video from the terrorists involved promising to sell the young women they have abducted, tonight the United States has a team en route to help find those who are still being held. They are all ages 15 to 18. In the meantime, we learn today eight more female students have been abducted in Kenya. And today thanks to a documentary filmmaker, we did hear from one of the kidnapped girls who managed to escape. It`s where we begin again tonight with NBC's Ann Curry."

Chuck Todd: Obama WH Has 'No Clue' How to Work with Congress

On MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Tuesday, MSNBC "Daily Rundown" host and White House correspondent Chuck Todd pointed out the Obama administrations deficiencies when it comes to dealing with Congress.

“They have no clue on how to deal with Congress," Todd said. "I’ve talked to folks in there and they don’t know. They can’t envision — I mean, Mark is right. I think they have a theory of a case, they just don’t know how to implement it."

"They don’t know how to put it through," he added. "They have no idea how they’re going to get anything done in Congress other than their whole theory this year is, well, if Democrats hold the Senate, maybe there’s a whole bunch of stuff we can jam in the lame duck, and there is a six-week period they’ll get immigration, all these things. That’s about all they have. That seems to be the totality of their legislative strategy because they don’t know how to work with Congress."
