CNN Throws In the Towel; Moves Away from News

CNN appears to be throwing in the towel, at least when it comes to being a cable news channel. With its ratings and reputation sinking, CNN announced Friday that the third-place network will be investing heavily in everything except serious news-gathering. This new focus will be towards "a variety of unscripted formats, including other travel shows, and 'immersive' nonfiction programs." This also includes documentary films like "Blackfish." NBC's Chris Matthews Mocks Christie's Weight: 'I Feel For His Wife'

The Huffington Post reports that NBC's Chris Matthews, longtime host of MSNBC's "Hardball," took the opportunity at an event Thursday to publicly insult New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Responding to a question with a joke, Matthews said he felt bad for Christie's wife. The obvious insinuation is that the overweight governor crushes her during sex. Nov 8, 2013 7:17 AM PT

Ex-MSNBC Anchor Screwed By ObamaCare

Dylan Ratigan, a left-wing, one-time MSNBC anchor, tweeted out his apparent frustration upon learning that ObamaCare not only cost him the health plan he liked, but his new one will cost $430 a month more. Ratigan closed his tweet with, "Thnx Mr. President!" Nov 8, 2013 6:43 AM PT

Obama Pivots to Economy for 21st Time

With his poll numbers dropping almost as fast as his credibility, President Obama has decided it is once again time to pivot his focus away from the disastrous ObamaCare rollout and towards his slightly less disastrous economic recovery. For the 21st time in just five years (which averages out to once every three months), the White House announced Thursday that "President Barack Obama will try to shift the national conversation to economic growth." Unemployment Climbs to 7.3%, 204K Jobs Created

The Labor Department reports that in the month of October, the American unemployment rate increased to 7.3% and 204,000 jobs were created. The media and White House had been laying the groundwork to blame a lousy jobs report on the shutdown, and by extension the GOP, but the 204,000 beat expectations, even though it is still a very weak number. Ratings: Fox Dominates, CNN Trounced on Election Night

More proof that CNN is dying came on Election Eve 2013. Tuesday night, the cable news network came in a distant third-place behind first place Fox News and second-place MSNBC. In both total viewers and the 25-54 demo, CNN had nothing to brag about and much to worry over. Nov 7, 2013 1:17 PM PT

Obama Rewrites Rule To Let Unions Avoid ObamaCare Tax

While millions of Americans deal with the fallout of ObamaCare in the form of increased premiums prices and cancellations, the New York Post reports that President Obama has already moved to protect his Big Labor allies from paying their "fair share." After publicly refusing to do so, the Administration has quietly "sneaked in a rule that would let some labor unions off the hook for an ObamaCare tax." Nov 7, 2013 8:04 AM PT

CBS News: ObamaCare About to Hit Employer-Provided Insurance

With his credibility shot, CBS News has apparently decided to not take President Obama's latest ObamaCare promise at face value. Now that millions who the president reassured could keep their insurance are losing it, CBS dug into Obama's latest reassurance about the 80% not in the individual market, and also found that that's not exactly true. The truth is that a so-called "Cadillac Tax" is about to turn millions of employer-based plans into something a little closer to a "junk plan." Nov 7, 2013 7:24 AM PT

'Elephant': Time Mag Cover Mocks Christie's Weight

Using a silhouetted head shot of the newly re-elected Republican governor of New Jersey, this week's Time Magazine cover (see above) doesn't even try to be subtle. In an obvious shot at Chris Christie's weight, the caption reads "The Elephant In the Room." Nov 7, 2013 5:03 AM PT

PolitiFact Gives Obama's Big Lie Rewrite a 'Pants On Fire'

Throughout the ObamaCare campaign and President Obama's re-election, PolitiFact, the phony left-wing fact check site, released a half-dozen provably false fact checks to protect Obama and his health care agenda. Now that Obama is safely re-elected and ObamaCare is safely the law of the land, PolitiFact probably feels it is safe to try and rehabilitate its credibility by giving Obama a "pants on fire" for rewriting his now-infamous "keep your insurance" pledge." Obama Approval Lower Than Bush's at Same Time In Presidency

Politically, Barack Obama is in worse shape at this time in his presidency than George W. Bush was at the exact same time in his. The first week of November in the fifth year of his presidency, Gallup showed Bush with a 40% job approval rating, with 55% disapproving. The first week of November in the fifth year of his presidency, Gallup has Obama at 39% approve, 53% disapprove. Nov 6, 2013 9:32 AM PT
