Romney Back in the Political Game

A few weeks ago I was at an event at my hair salon and I had the opportunity to talk to a local jewelry designer.  Like many Americans, she doesn't pay attention to politics every day.  She had recently seen the documentary "Mitt" on Netflix and expressed disappointment that she voted for Obama.  She said, "I remember seeing some news program and saying to my friend, 'He's just another rich a**hole.'  Now I think he was a good guy and could have kept us out of this Obamacare mess." Red Eye Confessions

This week I was on Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld for the first time.  It's been a dream of mine ever since I watched it for the first time.  Red Eye is the reason I got DVR.  I have the Red Eye tribute to Andrew Breitbart that aired on March 2, 2013 in permanent DO NOT ERASE mode on my DVR.  I wrote a book for the express purpose of getting me on the show (Ok, that last one might not be totally true). The Transparency Trap

Following plaintiff Shaun McCutcheon’s victory in the campaign finance reform case, several conservatives have hailed him as a hero. Certainly, he was on the right side of the issue of campaign donation limits, but like many he still doesn’t get the heart of the free speech issue and the current political climate.  Apr 11, 2014 4:59 AM PT

Yes, BuzzFeed, America is Great

Over the weekend I saw this video at BuzzFeed of "Facts That Will Restore Your Faith in America."  In the section titled "Progress," the video boasts that "Less than half of the population believes the U.S.A. is better than everyone.  Down 11% over the past decade." Apr 1, 2014 6:51 AM PT

Exclusive Excerpt of 'Finding Mr. Righteous'

It’s fitting that the only place you’ll find this exclusive excerpt of my new book, Finding Mr. Righteous, is on Breitbart.com. Below is an excerpt where I describe one of the many times when Andrew Breitbart inspired a conservative to break the rules set by politicos and engage in the culture. This was my first moment. 'God's Not Dead' and New Lessons

I saw God's Not Dead this morning.  Given that it's a Christian movie and is being promoted by churches across the country, it's no surprise that the movie has a message. I happen to agree with the message, but I was leery of how it would be delivered. Mar 23, 2014 5:27 PM PT

First Union to Endorse Obama Now Slams Obamacare

Great write-up at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's blog on a recent report from UNITE Here, a 300,000-person that was the first to endorse then-Senator Obama in his presidential run.  But it seems the implementation of Obamacare has now left a bad taste in their mouth. Mar 19, 2014 11:46 AM PT

Sasse the Uniter?

Yesterday on Big Government Frances Martel wrote about anti-Obamacare primary candidate Ben Sasse and his rise in the polls. Mar 13, 2014 9:01 AM PT

Dereliction of Duty in Detroit

I've had my eye on Detroit's bankruptcy proceedings because it is indicative of what's to come for a lot of cities.  How Detroit deals with its bankruptcy could also set a precedent for other cities forced to deal with the decisions of bankruptcy, satisfying pensions and debtors.  Unfortunately, Detroit's Emergency Manager Kevin Orr is shirking his responsibilities to the city and creditors by not making the hard choices to put Detroit on sound financial footing.
