During a June 13 speech, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump warned that Hillary Clinton’s solution to terrorism to disarm “law-abiding Americans.”
He said this while commenting on the Orlando terror attack in which approximately 50 were shot and killed and 53 wounded in a nightclub where guns were banned.
Trump said Clinton’s “solution [to terrorism] is to ban guns.” He continued:
They tried that in France, which has among the toughest gun laws anywhere in the world, and 130 people were murdered by Islamic terrorists in cold blood. Her plan is disarm law-abiding Americans, abolishing the Second Amendment and leaving only the bad guys and terrorists with guns.
On June 5 Clinton outlined her plan to abolish the Second Amendment, telling ABC’s George Stephanopoulos:
I’m going to continue to speak out for comprehensive background checks, closing the “gun show loophole,” closing the “online loophole,” closing the so-called “Charleston loophole,” reversing the bill that Senator Sanders voted for and I voted against, giving immunity from liability to gun makers and sellers.
And on June 13 she told CNN that the way forward from Orlando includes increasing outreach to Muslims and banning “assault weapons.”
