Kathy Griffin Quits ‘Fashion Police’ Because it Was too Shallow

Just months after succeeding the late Joan Rivers as host of E!’s Fashion Police, Kathy Griffin is calling it quits after only seven episodes.

Griffin took to Twitter Thursday evening to announce her decision, and said, “After seven episodes of Fashion Police, I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and now it’s time to move on.”

She continued: “My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about context,” Griffin writes. “There is plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people’s bodies into it.”

The show came back from a brief hiatus following Rivers’ death in December, but has since been met with mediocre ratings.

Fashion Police is still recovering from controversy surrounding the exit of Kelly Osbourne, after host Giuliana Rancic said Disney’s Zendaya probably “smells like patchouli oil… or weed” because of the teen’s hairstyle on the Oscars.
