Saudi Child Porn Distributor Arrested near Canadian Border

A Saudi Arabian man who was previously convicted in the United States for distributing child pornography was arrested by Border Patrol Agents near the Canadian border.

Agents from the Erie Border Patrol Station were called to assist officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in locating Saudi Arabian national, Fahad Ahmad Omish, age 24.

Omish was convicted earlier this month on 13 Pennsylvania state charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. He was sentenced to 13 years of probation by the state court and released into the community, a statement from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

Breitbart Texas contacted the Erie County Probation Department regarding ICE detainer policies. No response has been received at this time.

Omish was arrested in December 2015 along with a Pennsylvania man, Kenneth R. Lewis, 44. The Office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Child Predator section had conducted an investigation into individuals who were using an online file sharing system to store and share child porn images, according to Hazleton News 1.

The local news outlet reported that Omish’s computer had been identified by its IP address as being connected to media files “indicative of child pornography.” A search of Omish’s laptop computer revealed several images of suspected child pornography. He was arrested and charged with 2 counts of distribution of child pornography, 10 counts of possess of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

Omish had entered the U.S. legally on August 24, 2015, just four months before he was found to be engaging in illegal child porn activities. He was admitted on a student visa to attend Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The convicted child porn distributor was turned over to ICE enforcement removal officers for processing. He will be held without bond until such time as he is deported from the U.S.
