This is not a joke, even if you think it is.

Liberal Democrat Representatives Alan Grayson and Debbie Wasserman Schultz are both said to be eyeing a possible U.S. Senate run in 2016, if Senator Marco Rubio seeks a run for president and not for re-election to the Senate.

It was reported last year that Wasserman Schultz was said to be mulling over a run against Rubio in 2016, a claim that she refuted a day after the story broke.

But even Alan Grayson believes that it is “likely” that she will run for the Senate, if and when Rubio decides not to seek re-election. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said in a statement:

My only focus right now is serving the people of Florida’s 23rd district in Congress and electing a Democrat as the 45th president of the United States in 2016.

While Wasserman Schultz is hedging her bets, Grayson is serious about running for Senate, even if he has to go up against Rubio, saying that he believes that he would be able to “put together a very interesting and effective campaign.”

Can you imagine a Senate race with Alan Grayson, regardless of whether or not he faces Rubio?

The daily antagonistic and almost assured offensive sound bites that would come out of Grayson’s campaign are more than enough reason for anyone to want Grayson to jump into the race.
