Illegal Alien Indicted in Texas After Smuggling Attempt Left Two Dead

MCALLEN, Texas — A human smuggler from Mexico is facing up to 20-years in prison after a federal grand jury indicted him on a conspiracy to transport illegal aliens and eight counts of transporting illegal aliens for a fateful attempt where two illegal aliens died in a crash.

Amurabi Medina Cruz, a 21-year-old illegal alien from Mexico is expected to go before U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice Ellington in Corpus Christi where he will be charged and likely be held without bond.

The charges against Medina come from a December 3, 2014 crash where a an illegal alien from Guatemala died after getting pinned under the vehicle and another one form Mexico also died, information from the U.S. Attorney’s Office released to Breitbart Texas shows.

Border Patrol agents had received information that a group of illegal aliens had come out of a brush are and climbed inside a green Chevrolet Tahoe that was driving on Highway 285. When agents tried to stop it, the driver of the Tahoe who was later identified as Medina appeared to stop only to quickly accelerate in an effort to flee. The SUV ended up rolling off the road into an embankment.

If convicted of the crime, Medina faces a 20 year sentence and a $250,000 fine.
