Border Patrol agents twice this week tracked down the illegal aliens that human smugglers on jet skis dropped on the shores of California beaches.
Sunday evening, Border Patrol agents, in cooperation with the Joint Harbor Operations Center (JHOC) at United States Coast Guard Sector San Diego, tracked down reports of two jet skis heading north, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Agents apprehended two sand covered foreign nationals in wet suits on the shores near the Navy Seal team training facility, a 34-year-old male and a 19-year-old female.
Early Thursday morning, Border Patrol agents received citizen and JHOC reports of a suspicious jet ski heading north from Mexico, read a CBP statement. Agents responding to the beach discovered a 32-year-old Mexican national hiding among some rocks.
Smugglers were not reported captured in either CBP report of the incidents.
Smugglers can fetch up to $10,000 for water crossings in the San Diego region, according to Border Patrol agent estimates.
