Levin: CDC Trying to Cover Itself

On Wednesday, talk radio host and author of “The Liberty Amendments,” Mark Levin, criticized the CDC for “trying to cover its ass” after allowing nurse Amber Vinson to fly after she told the CDC she had a fever.

“This second nurse who has Ebola…CBS Evening News is reporting that she called the CDC several times before flying from Texas to Ohio to make wedding arrangements and she informed the staff there that she had the fever, but it allowed her to fly anyway” he said.  He argued that it was “common sense” that Vinson should not have been allowed to fly.

Levin then criticized elected officials, including “our great Republican leader” Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), for stating that they’ll rely on the CDC for policy recommendations instead of advocating for a ban on flights from areas with large outbreaks of Ebola, and argued that CDC was “trying to cover its ass.”

He further wondered whether the president was aware of the CDC’s mistakes in allowing Vinson on the flight when he made his remarks on Ebola earlier in the day.
