Fmr Dem Sen Lieberman: ‘Not Really An Argument for the Superdelegates’ In a Fair System

Former Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, who was both a Democrat and an Independent during his time in the Senate, and was the Democratic Party’s VP nominee in 2000, stated that in “a perfectly fair system,” “there’s not really an argument for the superdelegates” on Tuesday’s “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” on the Fox Business Network.

Lieberman said, [relevant remarks begin around 2:30] “[I]f you were talking about a perfectly fair system, there’s not really an argument for the superdelegates. I mean, the delegates at the convention should as closely as possible reflect the desires, the choices of the voters in that party in a given state from which they come.”
