Convicted Sex Offender Accused of Looking Up Girls’ Skirts in Target

Eugene, OR ABC affiliate KEZI reports that a convicted sex offender in Albany, OR is in jail after being accused of looking up girls’ skirts at a Target store.

Registered sex offender David Sappington, 20, was arrested the day after police received a call from shoppers reporting his “suspicious” activity. Officers were able to identify Sappington by using Target security footage and a description of the suspect.

According to the report, there were nearly a dozen victims.

Target released this statement following the incident:

“At Target, our guests are at the center of everything we do and our commitment to creating a safe and secure shopping environment in our stores is unwavering.”

Sappington has been charged with 19 counts of invading personal privacy. While these are normally misdemeanor charges, his sex offender status means the charges will likely be felonies.
