Three Israelis were reportedly killed and another was moderately wounded in an apparent terrorist attack outside a West Bank Jewish community northwest of Jerusalem.

According to initial reports, the attack took place shortly after 7 a.m. local Jerusalem time at the rear entrance to Har Adar, a small Jewish community about nine miles northwest of Jerusalem.

Footage from the Har Adar attack site can be seen below:

Israeli police said the terrorist opened fire on a group of Israeli security officers who were patrolling the back path to the settlement.

A police spokesperson and the Magen David Adom ambulance service both described the event as a combination shooting and stabbing attack.

The terrorist was reportedly shot and was critically wounded.

The Times of Israel has more details:

Police said the gunman had been among a group of Palestinian workers that were supposed to enter the settlement. However, he “aroused the suspicion” of officers on the scene and then took out a gun and shot at the Israelis.

Medics said the seriously injured victim is approximately 32 years old. He suffered gunshot wounds to the upper body and was taken to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem.

The three slain victims all sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body.
