Not Voting For The War Before I Am For It

Our new Cowboy in the White House has declared war on Libya. One can just imagine the headlines in the New York Times if George Bush were to have taken the action he did. Dare we remember the outrage from the left even when the UN passed the necessary resolutions on Iraq, today the left still squawk about how Bush lied about going to war? The hypocrisy of the left on this war in Libya is so breathtaking that anybody who calls themselves a moderate Democrat if one exists, or an independent, should be having serious doubts about the ideology of liberalism or the total game of political expediency they use. When Republicans “lie” the same policies of the left are that of “courage and fortitude.”

Our political leaders on both sides of the isle have already fallen into place with the policy on Libya, so a vote on the war would have been academic, but it always amazes how the Democrats behave in contrast to their criticism when in opposition. Republicans are always willing to support the president no matter if he is a Republican or Democrat when it comes to the issues of war.

Firstly, the only war in which we should be considering at the moment is that against Iran. It is Iran that is fomenting terrorism, threatening Israel with destruction, and helping to stir the current unrest in the Middle East region and not to mention their nuclear ambitions. Libya is a distraction nicely engineered by the Mullahs, in fact if you look at the big picture of Iran’s policy is to create as big a distraction as possible to take the heat off them. We are falling nicely into the trap.

The Obama administration delays a mere thirty one days to take aggressive action on Libya and awaits the endorsement of the Arab league before putting his two feet in the water. I wonder if our ally Israel told him to attack Iran how quick he would march to their beat; we all know the answer to that question. The Arab league or at least Saudi Arabia through the Wiki Leaks scandal seems to also think that Iran is a huge threat but our new cowboy in the White House is not ready after over two years to deal with Iran.

The Western powers have not lifted a military finger to deal with Zimbabwe and that other monster Robert Mugabe who has been murdering his people for years. Where are the Tomahawk missiles to deal with this nut job? No, “Zimbabwe has no oil” is the Democrats favorite refrain.

Our Democrat moon bats would be screaming from high heaven if a Republican were firing the missiles. You can read for days on the thousands of left wing blogs about why we went to war in Iraq. The left keep screaming that democracy is on the march in the Middle East yet all the people who are former Muslims who are born and bred from that part of the world have identified, as well as journalists who have done their homework, that the opposition to the dictators are inspired by Islamic fundamentalism and that the most likely outcome will be theocracies who will be alien to our interests, yet we plow full steam ahead with supporting the “democratic” uprising. The very people we are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan – Al Qaeda, have now become our allies, go figure!

Yet again our naivety to the issues of Middle Eastern culture and politics will not bring about the results we so desire. Until we understand that in a Muslim majority country democracy is not feasible because Islam is a political movement as well as a religion, that any vacuum left by a dictator will result in a Muslim theocracy. When the USA finally withdraws its last troops from Iraq we as a nation might finally learn what I am saying is correct; until then we will continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over with the same result, defining that our policies concerning the Middle East are that of someone who is certifiably insane.
