Despite Cold, 3 Dead 31 Wounded in Chicago over Weekend

Despite a cold weekend and Chicago being hit with the earliest snow flurry in decades, the violence in the city’s streets did not let up. Three were killed and 31 were wounded.

The first death occurred in the South Deering neighborhood where a man was shot in the head and killed on Friday after 9PM.

Tony McIntosh, 20, was walking down South Yates when someone walked up and without warning shot him.

The second death occurred in the West Garfield Park neighborhood during an incident on Saturday where four were shot.

Hezekiah Harper-Bey, 20, was shot in the face and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Also on Saturday police found a man dead on the street in the 1700 block of West 59th street.

As the weekend continued up to 31 were eventually shot between 6PM on Friday and Midnight on Sunday.

Thus far this year 284 people have been shot and killed in Chicago. The total shot in the city for 2014 stands at 1,738 with 339 total homicides so far.
