Democrat Andrew Cuomo Endorses Ebola Travel Ban

From the New York Times:

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said on Monday that the federal government should contemplate banning some flights in response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

“I think it’s something they should seriously consider, but I leave it to the experts who know this field better than I do,” he told reporters.

Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat who is running for re-election, had said this month that he did not believe a flight ban would be workable.

His Republican opponent in the Nov. 4 election, Rob Astorino, the Westchester County executive, has repeatedly called for a ban on passenger travel from Ebola-stricken nations to airports in the New York area.
