White House Responds To Hillary Clinton Over Trade Opposition

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest is wondering how Hillary Clinton could know exactly what is in the Trans-Pacific Trade partnership, since the text hasn’t been released yet.

“Is it possible that she’s actually looked at it?” wondered one reporter during the Wednesday  briefing.

“Yeah, I noticed that too,” Earnest replied.

Earnest said that the full text would be published with plenty of time for review before Congress takes a vote on it.

He predicted confidently that the details of the agreement would make a strong case to Democratic trade critics for supporting the legislation – including enforceable environmental and labor standards.

“I don’t think that I’ve minced any words in noting that we have a disagreement on this issue,” he said, “Secretary Clinton has a different view, that’s a view we disagree with, but how she’s arrived at that position, I would refer you to her campaign to describe.”
