After a less-than-impressive third quarter of fundraising, GOP presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is holding a fundraiser on Capitol Hill. The guest list includes lobbyists, bundlers and members of Congress, and the event is expected to raise roughly $200,000 for Rubio’s presidential campaign.

“Monday’s fundraiser was initially going to be held at a Washington, D.C. townhouse, but organizers moved it to the Capitol Hill Club — where a large room has been rented out — after the RSVP list began to swell,” reported Politico.

Some lobbyists expected to attend are: Verizon lobbyist Peter Davidson; NextEra lobbyist Christopher Chapel; Crossroads Strategies lobbyist Mathew Lapinski.

According to Politico, House members who may attend Rubio’s event are: “Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy, Illinois Rep. Darin LaHood, Georgia Rep. Austin Scott, and Indiana Rep. Todd Rokita.”

Rubio recently obtained the support of Paul Singer – a billionaire hedge fund manager who is for open borders and common core – over fellow GOP presidential candidate former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, making Rubio the establishment candidate to beat.
