Trump Campaign Blasts Clinton’s Foundation Damage Control Move as ‘Laughable’

The Donald Trump campaign is laughing off the announcement that the Clinton Foundation will stop taking foreign and corporate money if Hillary Clinton is elected president.

Plagued by allegations of pay-for-play involving foreign governments who donated to the Foundation while Clinton was Secretary of State, the Clinton team is trying to compromise the scandal away. But the Trump campaign is not impressed.

“The Clinton Foundation’s laughable attempt to address conflicts of interest fails to include many of its umbrella organizations like the Clinton Health Access Initiative, which alone represents nearly two-thirds of all foundation spending,” Trump senior communications adviser Jason Miller said in a statement.

“The bottom line is that conflicts of interest with foreign governments and special interests would continue unabated in a Hillary Clinton administration under their insufficient and unacceptable proposal,” Miller said.

Donald Trump has called on Congress to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Clinton Foundation scandal. Conservative House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio supports Trump’s call for a special prosecutor.
