On Monday, a mother in Beech Bluff, Tennessee, confronted an alleged intruder by sticking the barrel of her gun in his face and asking, “[Is] there something I could do for [you]?”

The incident occurred during the morning hours.

According to WBBJ, the mother — Elsie Lee — and her son were sleeping when she heard strange noises. Lee immediately knew something was not right and that she had to act to protect her son. She went out into the hall, ran to where she keeps her .45 caliber pistol, then grabbed it and a shotgun too.

Lee then noticed that someone was already in her home. She said, “The guy was standing in the kitchen. He had just busted my door open.”

Lee said, “I put the gun in his face and asked him if there was something I could do for him, and he was gone just that quick.” She added, “I chased him out the back door trying to look at the tag number on the car, something I could describe other than just him.”

She called 911 and said Madison County Sheriff’s deputies arrived within three minutes. Within the next hour, they found and arrested 20-year-old Quentin Childress, 18-year-old Jaylon Chiles, 21-year-old Amar Johnson, 19-year-old Kendrick McMullin, and a juvenile. “Each is charged with aggravated burglary.”

Lee praised the Madison County deputies for showing up so quickly, saying, “I say they were ‘Johnny on the spot.’ They were here within three minutes. I congratulate our sheriff’s department for what they did, and it couldn’t have been done any faster or better.”
