Dallas RB Busted for Shoplifting

Does poverty cause crime or does crime cause poverty?

Frisco, Texas, police arrested Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle for shoplifting at a Dillard’s on Monday. Surveillance video allegedly captures the backup swiping underwear and a bottle of cologne.

Randle finds himself in the midst of a four-year, $2.3 million contract. The team guarantees just $188,000.

Did his financial insecurity lead to the moment when mall security intervened?

Randle, along with backfield mate DeMarco Murray, ran over the NFL’s best rushing defense on Sunday in Dallas’s road victory over the Seattle Seahawks. He gained 52 yards on the ground.

The cops released Randle this morning after charging him with theft of items between $50 and $500.
