During Sunday’s Rockets-Thunder game the sidelines seemed to have more action that the court as the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant talked smack with Dwight Howard of the Houston Rockets.
Durant called Howard a p*ssy time and again during the game.
It is well known that Durant dislikes Howard. Of course, that seems to be how several NBA players feel about Howard as the Rockets player has come in as a favorite target of taunts from the sidelines.
As Deadspin’s Tom Ley notes, it seems that, “Nobody thinks Dwight Howard is tough, and everyone is very eager to let him know as much.”
But Evan Massey said that Durant’s behavior is a bit surprising as he is known as “one of the calmest and most professional players in the league.”
Massey isn’t the first to slam Howard. Kobe Bryant was also heard yelling out slams at Howard during the Lakers-Rockets game a few weeks ago. Kobe apparently called Howard a “b*tch-*ss ni**a.”
Regardless of the taunts, Howard helped lead the Rockets to a win over the Thunder 69-65, so perhaps he had the last word on the matter.
