Donald Trump Jr. describes shooting and hunting and his “passions” and says he is committed to standing shoulder to shoulder with his father, Donald J. Trump, to turn back the left’s attacks on hunters.

Trump Jr. is a hunter and a competitive shooter who reloads his own ammunition, and he said, “You know, the Second Amendment, shooting, hunting, for me it’s a lifestyle. It’s not just something I do.”

Don Jr. spoke talked to Breitbart News about the experiences and memories he has formed “in a hunting camp,” and spoke to how he wants to pass that tradition on to his kids because so they can form such memories too. But he also focused on the “discipline” of hunting and stressed that he wants to pass that discipline to his kids as well.

He said:

Hunting has been a passion for me when I’m not working and with my family, and frankly, it’s been a passion when I’m with my family as well. The discipline, the good times, the bond that I’ve had in a hunting camp, around a campfire, on a shooting range, all of those things as well as the discipline and patience it takes to become a competitive shooter, those are all values I want to pass on to my kids. I want to make sure they get them, so I want to make sure to preserve these things for my kids and for their kids after them.

Don Jr. went on to say a Trump administration will not be one in which myriad gun laws are propounded by people without any understanding of guns or experience shooting them. He added, “As it relates to the sportsmen and the hunters, we’re going to actually have hunters involved in the Department of the Interior. Not animal rights activists who are setting hunting seasons, but don’t believe in the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.”

The North American Model of Wildlife Conservation holds that wildlife belongs to the people—rather than to the government or a particular interest or entity—and is therefore managed by the people, with hunting and fishing among the management tools.

Don. Jr. pointed to Sportsmen for Trump, where Chris Barret (Barrett Rifles), Jason Hairston (KUIU Ultralight Hunting), Willie Robertson (Duck Dynasty), Mike Waddell (Bone Collector), and numerous other sportsmen have endorsed Donald J. Trump for president. Those joining Sportsmen for Trump are adamant that a Trump administration offers hope for a stronger tomorrow for hunters and anglers and the sport they enjoy.
