President Joe Biden spoke to a joint session of Congress Wednesday to propose a $1.8 trillion “human infrastructure” proposal that comes with a myriad of tax increases, including expanding the death tax.
Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue talked about tax reform with SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Tuesday’s edition of Breitbart News Daily. Perdue was particularly enthusiastic about lifting the tax burden on small businesses and eliminating the “death tax” on inherited property.
The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee told Breitbart News that he is committed to abolish permanently the federal tax on the property of the deceased, or the ‘Death Tax.’
Steve Moore, an advisor on Donald Trump’s tax plan and a distinguished visiting fellow at The Heritage Foundation’s Institute for Economic Freedom and Opportunity, laughed at Hillary Clinton’s charge that Trump’s plan to terminate the federal estate tax — also called the death tax — would save his family $4 billion dollars.
“The current system isn’t fair,” 2016 presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz responded before explaining the details of his recently released tax plan at Tuesday night’s Fox Business-Wall Street Journal debate.
“This is a hell of a plan,” conservative radio host Mark Levin said Monday night about Donald Trump’s tax proposal, while admitting he disagrees with the GOP candidate in several areas.
In the build up to President Obama’s State of the Union address, the White House has floated plans to raise hundreds of billions in new taxes. The plans have almost no chance of passing Congress but are designed to frame the upcoming debates and alter the landscape for the presidential election in 2016.
