1 Year Ago: Texas Deputy Gunned Down In Dark After New Black Panther Chants

One year ago, Harris County Deputy Sheriff Darren Goforth walked out of a convenience store to his patrol car and was gunned down in cold blood by a man who snuck up behind him in the dark. Police say there appears to be no other motivation for the shooting than he was wearing a uniform and a badge.

Gag Order Sought in Sandra Bland Case

Sandra Bland Hearing: Texas’ Top Cop Told ‘A Lot of People are Afraid of You Guys’

The Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Steve McCraw, was told during a Texas House committee investigatory hearing – “A lot of people are afraid of you guys.” The hearing was called in the wake of the arrest of Sandra Bland by a Texas DPS trooper.
