Credit Where It's Due: News Outlet Honors Marine As Person Of The Year

Sign On San Diego recently awarded its “Person of the Year” to the Marine.

We can think of no better way to begin this tradition than by selecting as our first winner the Marine. Since Sept. 11, 2001, America has relied on the Marine to keep us safe from terror at home and to take the fight to our enemies abroad, a task our Marines have handled with immense courage, professionalism and honor.

After the disappointment of TIME honoring the criminal Marxist protester, it’s refreshing to see a news entity honor actual heroes, a group whose actions have demonstrably measurable effects on society, a group whose purpose is to give of themselves for the sake of others, as opposed to demanding that everyone sacrifice for them, which is what we saw with the OWS movement.

Kudos to Sign On San Diego.
