Zimmerman Lawyer to Media: You 'Ran Right Over Him'

George Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, blistered the mainstream press after a jury found his client not guilty of all charges on Saturday evening. O’Mara accused the mainstream media of turning Zimmerman into a monster and then running over him.

O’Mara said Zimmerman was “like a patient on an operating table where mad scientists were committing experiments on him and he had no anesthesia.”

“He didn’t know why he was turned into a monster,” O’Mara said to the assembled reporters. “But quite honestly, you guys had a lot to do with it. You just did.”

He continued, “You took a story that was fed to you and you ran with it and you ran right over him, and that was horrid to him.”

As Breitbart News’ John Nolte extensively documented, the mainstream press first falsely wrote that Zimmerman was white before labeling him a “white Hispanic.” Breitbart News then caught NBC editing a 911 tape to make it seem like Zimmerman was a racist, editing out the part of the tape where the dispatcher asked for Trayvon Martin’s race and only playing Zimmerman telling the dispatcher, “He looks black.”

Later, ABC broadcasted a grainy video Zimmerman at the police station on the night of shooting as supposed proof that he had suffered no injuries. CNN then falsely accused Zimmerman of saying “f-ing coon” during the 911 call; an enhanced version of the tape would force the network to later admit Zimmerman actually said, “f-ing cold.”

These were just some of the more egregious mainstream media offenses to which O’Mara may have been referring.
