Second Rosh Hashanah Attack Thwarted by Israel Defense Forces

As Jews across Israel and around the world prepare for Rosh Hashanah, Hamas militants were making their own plans for the Jewish New Year.

First reported by the Israel news website 0404, seven terrorists were arrested late Sunday night by Israel Defense Forces after intelligence learned of their plan to attack in Gush Etzion during the observance of Rosh Hashanah. The Jewish New Year Holiday begins sundown Wednesday evening.

The arrests occurred in the Palestinian Authority town of Kfar Sair, northeast of Hebron. According to initial reports, a search of homes by the IDF revealed a large supply of ammunition and knives. According to a report by Jewish Press, “All seven suspects were turned over to the Shin Bet for interrogation.”

This is the second attack thwarted by the IDF that was set to take place on Rosh Hashanah.

On July 25, Breitbart News reported that thousands of terrorists were planning to cross over to Israel from Gaza through tunnels with the goal of killing and kidnapping “as many Israelis as they could.”

According to a military source, this recent foiled attack is being viewed as a great intelligence success. The July attack was uncovered when “the army learned about the huge planned attack during the interrogations of Hamas prisoners, captured during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza.
