Transsexual Bondage Advocate Made Chair of Governors at All-Boys School

A transsexual who has publicly stated her “proud support” for bondage has been appointed chair of governors at an all-boys school near Liverpool. Tara Hewitt, who describes herself as “proud feminist” announced her new appointment at Mosslands School in Wallasey on the social networking site LinkedIn.

Ms Hewitt is a controversial character who has been willing to support causes that are likely to raise eye-brows amongst the public. As reported on Breitbart London she describes herself as an “advocate of the BDSM (bondage, discipline and sadomasochism) community”, she also says she is into “swinging” and “pet play”, dressing up as an animal for sexual purposes.

Mosslands describes itself as “a successful community school which provides a truly comprehensive education for some 947 boys aged from 11 to 19 and which achieves excellent results at GCSE and post 16.” However, it is given extra financial support due to its catchment area which is comparatively poor.

As a comprehensive school a number of its governors, including Hewitt, were appointed by Wirral Borough a Labour held authority in Merseyside. Although the local authority picks some of the governors, it is for the body itself to elect its own chair.

Prior to her involvement in Mosslands School Hewitt was Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Officer at the National Union of Students’, she also sat on the NUS Disabled Students Committee. She was previously Vice-Chairman of Liverpool Wavertree Constituency Labour Party, but under Cameron she has taken the view that the Conservative Party is her natural home.

She is now seeking a parliamentary seat for the Conservatives in 2015 and hopes to become a Member of Parliament. On her Facebook page she describes herself as a “Conservative- Blue Blarite. Pragmatic progressive liberal”. She says she “cares about the world and want to make a difference”.

Whilst there is absolutely no suggestion of impropriety against Hewitt, her position gives her the ability to shape school policy in a way that may not fit with the views of parents. She is very socially liberal and her support for unusual sexual practises is likely to cause concern.

The school’s website confirms that Sex Education policy is set by the school’s governing body. At present their policy is to deliver it “formally through Faculties and informally through the confidential counselling offered by the Form tutor system.”
