GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson joined The David Webb Show on SiriusXM with conservative radio host David Webb and reacted to the cop who was ambushed and shot “in the name of Islam” in Philadelphia.
“It’s not unexpected, and I expect a lot more things to happen because I don’t think the current administration really takes these things seriously,” Carson told Webb.
This summer, when I was down on the Arizona-Mexican border, they were telling me about the OTMs—other than Mexicans—that were coming through, a lot of people from Syria, and Iraq, and Nigeria, and Somalia. There are a lot of terror cells out there and what we’re going to have to do is start teaching Americans what to do if they’re caught in one of these situations.
In order to combat radical Islamic extremism, Carson said:
We’re going to have to start following their cyber pathways, destroying their servers and capabilities, putting out alternative methods. And also working with Imams and clerics and telling them they must be our eyes and ears. They must help us identify radicalized elements because if they can’t do it, how are we supposed to do it? And if we can’t do it, it’s going to change our attitude towards them.
Webb mentioned the disconnect between the people on the ground and the mayor who said the shooting of the cop wasn’t related to Islam and the police captain who said the suspect said he was inspired by ISIS.
“As the explanatory memorandum that came out during the Holy Land Foundation trial in Texas in 2006 and 2007, they count on our naivety,” Ben Carson responded.
They count on our grasp of political correctness, which will allow them to flourish and compromise our own rights. I mean, it is beyond belief that our officials can be that dense and not understand the dangers that are posed and start doing all the things that are necessary to protect the American people.
