The fact that Roseanne Barr hasn’t made us laugh since the Clinton administration should be enough to get her drummed out of the competitive realm known as show business.
Barr’s steady stream of Twitter rage is also reason enough to professionally marginalize the once talented performer.
Barr’s latest hateful invective? Telling Chick-Fil-A customers they deserve to get cancer for eating processed foods.
Naturally, Barr felt some social media heat for the comments and offered this weak retort:
Yet as recently as last year NBC tried to bring Barr back to primetime with the sitcom “Upwardly Mobile.” When a performer like Michael Richards, a supremely gifted physical comic best known for playing Kramer on “Seinfeld,” said the “n-word” in a comedy club it essentially ended his professional career.
Why is the same treatment not applicable to a woman who says the kinds of things Barr says via Twitter?
