Man Pulls Daughter out of School Early for Deer Hunting Season

A Texas hunter did not let school get in the way of taking his daughter hunting at the height of deer hunting season.

Jeff Pavlock of Rosenberg posted to Facebook a screenshot of his 12-year-old daughter’s attendance sheet stating that his daughter would be leaving school early to partake in deer hunting season.

“I put down headed to go put the smack down on a monster buck … That’s the way we do it here in Texas,” Pavlock told KPRC:

Pavlock’s post went viral on social media after he published it Tuesday. More than 80,000 people shared his Facebook photo as of Saturday afternoon.

“I would always post a bunch of funny stuff on Facebook. I kept telling everybody: ‘One day, I’m going to make it big,’” Pavlock said.

The avid deer hunter added that he has been receiving messages from people all over the U.S. and Canada about his post.

“I’ve got people from Canada and people messaging me from all over the United States, so I am just living in the moment and enjoying it,” Pavlock said.

He added that his daughter takes the sport just as seriously as he does.

“She’s a hunting little bugger. She’s made about nine hunts with me so far. We are just waiting on the big one to come out of the woods,” Pavlock said.
