Anti-KKK Activist March on Florida State Capitol

A group of anti-Klan protesters marched on the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee, FL on Thursday to protest recent Ku Klux Klan activity.

According to CBS Tallahassee affiliate WCTV, the rally was spurred by Ku Klux Klan recruitment flyers in Leon and Jefferson Counties, FL in addition to the arrests of two former Florida correctional officers and a former officer trainee that were charged for their involvement in a plot to kill a former inmate who was getting out of prison.

“More importantly, the reason we’re all coming together is because we want to show a united front, and at the end of the day, we can all put aside our differences to drive out racists out of Tallahassee,” one protester told WCTV.

The rally included the burning of the Confederate flag and chants of “DOC, KKK, how many people did you kill today?” according to another report.

There was a strong police presence at the rally because the so-called Republic of Florida militia had threatened to stage a counter-protest, but sign of the group.
