During an interview aired on NPR’s “All Things Considered” on Wednesday, Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) stated that she could “barely” pick herself up off the floor as a result of Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s defeat, which she further characterized as “painful” and “hurtful.”

After saying that she could “hardly say” that Donald Trump will be the president, and saying the Electoral College was an “unfair” system, Boxer was asked how she felt seeing Clinton lose to which she responded, “Oh, it was painful, hurtful. I even had, like, a physical reaction to it. I could barely pick myself up off the floor.”
