Police in Titusville, Florida, say a concealed carry permit holder intervened and shot a gunman at a back to school event Sunday afternoon.

WFTV reports that a fist fight occurred at the event, and after it a shooting. A concealed carry permit holder then intervened, leaving the shooter with life-threatening injuries.

Dwight Harvey provided Facebook Live video that caught the seconds in which bullets were fired:

Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson said, “We are extremely grateful that nobody else was injured in this incident. This suspect opened fire at a crowded public park, this could have been so much worse.”

Florida’s State Attorney’s office has already indicated that no charges are expected to be filed against concealed permit holder.

Ironically it was less than a month ago that NPR and Gabby Giffords’ gun control group rejected the “good guy with a gun” scenario and described stories of self-defense gun usage as a “myth.”
