Muslim Brotherhood Supporters Burn Cairo Campus Building

On December 28th, Islamist supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood entered a campus building at Cairo’s Al-Azhar University and set it ablaze.

According to AFP, people were in the building taking exams at the time.

The fire “spread through two floors of the commerce faculty building” before being brought under control by firefighters.

The fire follows “a crackdown on Muslim Brotherhood demonstrations” throughout Egypt. On December 27, three people were killed and 265 arrested after the government labeled the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group.
