Parents of Soldier Killed Looking for Bergdahl: Obama Engaged in 'Cover-Up like Benghazi'

The UK’s Daily Mail interviewed the parents of fallen soldier Second Lt. Darryn Andrews, who claim their son was killed in action while on a mission to rescue Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from Taliban captivity. They also claim that the Obama administration has been actively involved in a cover-up.

“The furious parents of an officer who they claim was killed while searching for freed Taliban prisoner Bowe Bergdahl today said that they have been lied to as part of a ‘cover-up just like Benghazi,'” reports the Daily Mail. Andrews’ parents have been given conflicting stories about the death of their son.

“First his commanders said that their son was blown up while hunting a Taliban commander – but only now that Bergdahl has been freed after five years in captivity are they learning the truth.”

The parents of the fallen soldier told the Daily Mail that Andrews’ fellow soldiers on base unanimously believe that Bergdahl was clearly a deserter.

Andrews’ mother and father said soldiers were not allowed to discuss the truth behind Bowe Bergdahl’s desertion from base.

Mr. Andrews said, “The soldiers said they had to sign a letter saying that they would not discuss this. I have no way of proving that apart from what they said. We cannot tell you how devastated we are that the government would do this. They lied to us.” He added, “It’s a big cover-up like Benghazi, just like everything Obama has done. We want the truth to come out.”
