Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard resigned from her post as vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Sunday and endorsed insurgent socialist candidate Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton for president.

Gabbard made the formal endorsement on “Meet the Press,” resigning from the DNC so as to avoid a public conflict of interest.

Breitbart News has extensively reported on the DNC’s pro-Hillary bias this election cycle. The DNC takes money from the Hillary Victory Fund and some of that money goes to state parties in the form of $7,500 payments.

Jason Perkey, executive director of the South Carolina Democratic Party, confirmed to Breitbart News that the South Carolina party and others have taken payments from the Hillary Victory Fund but said that Bernie Sanders was also given the chance to have a joint fundraising relationship with the DNC and state parties, but he declined. However, Perkey added that the Sanders campaign has contributed some money to state party events.
