Violence Erupts at Two Rap Concerts, One Man Fatally Stabbed

Violence marred a pair of rap concerts over the weekend, with one clash leaving a man dead.

That fatal attack occurred July 26 in Charlotte where a Lil’ Wayne concert had been held.

Investigators say 25-year-old James Price had just left the Lil’ Wayne concert and was stabbed to death while defending his girlfriend in the gravel parking lot at the amphitheater.

The Legends of the Summer tour, featuring Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, touched down at the Rose Bowl June 28. The event, which was expected to draw roughly 60,000 people, ended with 11 arrests being made.

Three people were arrested for being drunk in public, two people each for battery, violating a city ordinance and scalping tickets, and one person each for evading police in a vehicle and domestic battery, said Pasadena police Sgt. Kate Favara.
