Ricardo Medina Jr., who formerly starred in several Power Rangers TV series, was arrested in Palmdale, California over the weekend on suspicion he killed his roommate with a sword.

Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told TMZ that Medina, 36, and another man, Joshua Sutter, also 36, were arguing Saturday afternoon when things got physical at around 4 p.m. local time.

Shortly after, LASD Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez told Fox News that Medina retreated into his bedroom with his girlfriend and locked the door.

Sutter then forced his way into the bedroom, where Medina allegedly picked up a sword and stabbed Sutter once in the abdomen.

Medina reportedly called 911 to report the incident, and waited for first responders to arrive. Sutter later died at a hospital, and Medina was arrested. He is being held on $1 million bail, is due in court in Lancaster, Calif. on Tuesday.

Medina first appeared as the Red Ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force in 2002. He went on to play the character Dekker on Power Rangers Samurai. He has since reprised the role with his voice on two of the franchise’s video games, most recently in 2012.
