WATCH: Hollywood’s Version of Barack Obama Asking Michelle Out

In what is sure to become one of the first in a long list of films portraying the life of the Obama’s, Southside With You tells the story set in the summer of 1989 of how then-first-year Harvard Law student Barack Obama asked Michelle Robinson out on their first date.

The film stars Tika Sumpter, Ride Along 2, as Michelle Robinson and Parker Sawyers, Zero Dark Thirty, as Barack Obama.

Written and directed by Richard Tanne, Southside With You is set to premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival next month, in Park City, UT.
