A Texas judge likened a black Dallas Police Sergeant to a clueless slave in response to the cop’s lawsuit against Black Lives Matter and its high-profile supporters.
Andrea Martin, 304th District Court Judge in Dallas County (D), told her network of friends on Facebook Saturday that Sgt. Demetrick Pennie was like a slave that Harriet Tubman could not free because he could not comprehend his own bondage. The post elicited a number of supporters to Judge Martin’s sentiment, typically calling Pennie a “coon” and other derisive messages. A sitting Texas State Representative apparently joined the racialist banter as well.
Martin’s thoughts led others to compare Pennie to a “coon”, “Judas” and Samuel L. Jackson’s house slave character “Stephen” in the 2012 film, Django Unchained. The derisive comments were repeatedly cheered by Martin’s lines of “laughing-so-hard-I’m-crying” emojis and others.
Texas State Representative Eric Johnson (D – Dallas, Mesquite) also appears to join in with a “Stephen” reference via his Facebook account.
Judge Martin currently serves in the 304th Juvenile District Court. She originally graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2000 and later worked for the Dallas County District Attorney as a general prosecutor and subsequently represented Child Protective Services.
Sergeant Demetrick Pennie told Breitbart Texas that Martin and Johnson’s comments as elected officials are the exact sentiments that only drive communities further apart.
“These statements are the very instruments used to perpetuate the divisiveness that we continue to see in society,” Pennie said. He also argued that elected officeholders be held accountable for their racially-derogatory language.
The inflammatory statements on Facebook follows a pattern of online abuse and threats leveled against Sergeant Pennie since he joined a lawsuit against the leadership of Black Lives Matter and its prominent backers. Days prior, Pennie complained to the Dallas Police Department and the FBI that someone likely within the DPD leaked his confidential employment information so that the general public could confront him while on duty or at home. He explained that he began receiving direct messages from non-DPD contacts, often containing death threats. Several social media posts purport to show individuals taking credit for sending notes or encouraging others to do the same.

The head of a Dallas police organization is suing a collection of Black Lives Matter figureheads and other prominent individuals for allegedly inciting racial violence against American police officers.
Dallas Police Department Sergeant Demetrick Pennie, President of the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation, filed an amended federal complaint September 16 against more than a dozen defendant institutions and individuals to build a class action case on behalf of “police officers and other law enforcement persons of all races and ethnicities including but not limited to Jews, Christians and Caucasians” for “inciting” race riots and related violence.
The suit hopes to produce damages and an injunction placed against alleged threats of racially-motivated violence going forward.
Sergeant Pennie recently petitioned the federal court to expedite his case due to the incoming threats received.
