Senators Not Sold on Bergdahl Deal After Administration Briefing

Wednesday night, senior administration officials lead by Deputy National Security Advisor Tony Blinken and Jim Dobbins briefed senators concerned about the Obama administration’s prisoner swap of five top Taliban commanders for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said nothing changed his mind in the briefing. Rubio said the president broke the law when he did not consult Congress before the prisoner exchange. Three Democrats — Sens.
