Vince Warren , the executive director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, appeared on MSNBC’s “Melissa Harris-Perry” on Saturday to discuss immigration and deportation.

Warren stated that people in the United States closes its eyes on immigration and just sees “brown people coming in.”

“We have always in this country been very willfully confused about people who are coming for economic opportunities and people who are refugees. There are entirely two different categories. It happens in Central America, it happens in South America, it happens in the Caribbean and we just close our eyes to this and we just see the brown people coming in.”

Warren later added that deportation is one of the “saddest” parts of the Obama presidency.
