On Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) expressed his belief that a Democratic Senate takeover is a “fairly certain thing” on New York’s AM 970’s radio show “The Cats Roundtable.”

After discussing various 2016 Senate races, Reid said to host John Catsimatidis, “We need to pick up four [seats] to take the majority, and with the numbers I’ve given you, it’s going to be a fairly certain thing that we can do that.”

Reid also confirmed with Catsimatidis that he will not run again for his seat, saying that Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will serve as the next Democratic leader of the Senate.
