New York Times columnist David Brooks weighed in on both the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention Friday on PBS “NewsHour,” saying that if a Martian watched the two, the Martian would say the Democratic party was more conservative and patriotic than the GOP.
“This is a super effective night … and the final thing to be said, if you were a Martian and came down and looked at these two conventions and somebody asked you, ‘Which of the two parties is the most overtly patriotic?’ You would say the Democratic party. ‘Which is the most culturally conservative?’ You would say the Democratic party,” Brooks said.
