Howard Dean Attacks Tulsi Gabbard — ‘Extremely Ambitious With Flexible Principles’

Monday on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” former DNC Chair and former Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT) attacked Iraq War veteran Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) after her meeting with President-elect Donald Trump today, saying she was “extremely ambitious with flexible principles.”

Dean said, “She’s an interesting person and the people from Hawaii basically have her tabbed as an extremely ambitious with flexible principles … She was a lefty for Bernie, now she’s talking about running against Mazie Hirono who’s a left wing or liberal senator from Hawaii. So who knows what this is all about.”

Former Democratic Ohio State Senator Nina Turner defended Gabbard, saying, “Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is a combat veteran, so I’ve got to say that she’s been true to her heart and what she believes in. And I think it was very smart of her to take the invitation of President-elect Trump and put people over politics. So I don’t agree with the governor and that comment he made about the congresswoman.”
